Incident Description

 This happened when anti-government police and MNDF had a stand-off, throwing gas canisters and attacking one another. There were many reports of civilians and armed forces being injured in this conflict. Schools were affected by tear gas. But within a few minutes police had gained control of the Square. The police and members of the public who had joined forces with them, pushed MNDF back into their head quarters, and several MNDF joined the police and the public. Some had tears in their eyes. “Lady” Ibrahim Manik, a senior police official was captured and beaten. Police issued warnings to the public to get down in case MNDF starts to shoot. Rubber bullets were shot by MNDF at the police and public was reported by Haveeru. Vehicles outside the police HQ and cameras at MNDF HQ were damaged. Schools began to cancel their session due to tear gas and pepper spray reaching the areas as well.
